Organisation of CCP5
The UK has a large and successful community engaged this research.
CCP5 plays a key rôle in achieving communication across this large
community.
The Project has a high international profile; approximately 75 % of
the large membership (currently around 1200 members) is overseas.
The work of CCP5 is done in a number of ways.
There are carefully chosen collaborative projects
involving two Daresbury scientists (Drs. Smith and Purton).
CCP5 supports development of
a molecular dynamics code
DL_POLY
for the simulation of
ionic, polymeric and macromolecular systems on parallel computers and workstations.
CCP5 organizes regular
workshops and meetings (typically four per year) on
important current topics.
There is also a programme of foreign visitors, involving visits to
CCP5 groups.
